Therapy for 30-Somethings, Anxious, Overwhelmed, and Overthinkers

Kimberly Vanhooser

Christian Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CA, CO, and AZ

Hi, I’m Kimberly. I love helping women ages 28-42 grow in confidence, find clarity, and experience peace by overcoming anxiety, overwhelm, and overthinking.

I founded Clarity Christian Counseling in 2015 to serve those who strongly desire to work with therapists who align with their Christian beliefs. While Christian faith is not a requirement to work with me, I find that many of my clients value their relationship with God and desire to integrate faith into their therapeutic process, even if they are currently feeling spiritually numb or distant from God. When it is desired by the client and I have permission to do so, I love the opportunity to invite God into the process of therapy, trusting Him to bring healing and direction in every session. I can provide Holy Spirit-led insight, encouragement, and prayer for my clients when appropriate and beneficial.

I help my clients uncover blind spots, identify truth, and develop healthy tools for coping so they can feel confident in their decision-making abilities, more connected in their relationships, and more secure in who they are.

My approach is organic and natural, rather than extremely clinical. I seek to allow you to feel as comfortable and safe as possible while I utilize my clinical knowledge and expertise to offer feedback, increase insight and self-awareness, and equip you with the tools you need to experience necessary change, relief, and breakthrough.

I’m a Jesus-lover, author, entrepreneur, wife, and bonus mom to two amazing daughters. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, spent my twenties in California, and lived a brief stint in Arizona before finding my home in Colorado. I love coffee, cats, and farm animals and dream of one day owning a horse.

I graduated from Pepperdine University in 2012 with my MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. I have served as an adjunct professor for Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. I have been fully licensed as a marriage and family therapist since 2015 and hold licenses in CA, AZ, and CO. I am also registered to provide telehealth in the state of South Carolina.

In 2025, I published my first book, Peace Made Possible: A Christian Therapist’s Guide to Overcoming Anxiety which became an Amazon bestseller.

I have specialized experience working with anxiety disorders, self-harm, and women struggling with issues related to singleness and dating.

I see it as my mission and God-given purpose to empower and equip my clients to experience the life they were created for. No more being held back by anxiety, confusion, and overthinking. Contact me today to set up your free consultation and get started on your path to peace and emotional freedom.
